we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium - it was more like the Monterey Bay Tourist trap though.. We managed to have a good time even though it was crowded when we went. I had the bright idea of going on a Saturday. Not my best idea but hey, who is perfect? Anyhow, I shot this hand held with my 85MM - I was really not as impressed as my last visit. It was less crowded then and I didn't feel guilty for shooting so long at each installation. The jelly fish always amaze me so here you go. I like to think of this as the celebrity jelly fish because it has two backup singers in the background. This particular jelly also had some spot light action going... so yea, celebrity jelly fish for your consideration.

shot this using my D3, buddys older 500MM manual. it is comparable to the shot using my other buddys 10" celestron telescope but this only took me 10 minutes to setup. it was F4 at 640th on mirror lockup - ran the RAW through CS and added some focus, some saturation and called it good.

launching a new photo service at rccrawler.com

Howdy All

I am in the process of launching a new service on www.rccrawler.com. This is the community I spend lots of time on, drooling over new truck/car builds. I am targeting vendors for this endeavor mainly because I am trying to work out trades with the vendors I want parts from. I will, of course, be offering my service to anyone who wants exceptional imagery of their tiny cars and trucks at a discounted price compared to my normal rate, more because I love these guys and the hobby more than I should….

So – here is a sample of my first alliance. I have won the agreement from UGC to shoot their offerings. This is a huge win for me right off the bat. The company and the team are all great guys. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.

one more?

why not....

i like my readers.... so here is one more picture on me :)

Ok, so this summer was the worst. I had my Nikon d3 come off its strap. Yes! You read that correctly, I watched, in horror as my 5k camera with a 2k lens came out of its “safety strap” on my own wrist and fall to concrete at my friend’s wedding. It was pure slow motion hell.

Anyhoo - its back now and it wants to know why I am so lazy... although I am not really that lazy. A ton of stuff has happened to me in the last 2 weeks. I reconnected with an old photo boss of mine and she offered me Saturday’s fulltime shooting in the studio (seniors) and I am also being offered all of these sports action candid assignments. So - I AM STOKED. As long as I can keep my wife and son from not freaking out about how much I am working I will be in hog heaven. Sharon is 8 months preggers with my daughter, Sophia and I really need to keep her smiling..

On a totally unrelated note here is a cool sunset image… well. I like it :p

bella bella BELLA!!!!!!

i wish i could bottle Mad's beauty and sell it to all the people who need it. she is just awesome to shoot and work with in studio or outside. i am torn at the moment - i cant seem to find her in the studio as well yet. i don't know, the only thing i am sure of is she is the muse of muses and i don't want to stop capturing her raw beauty. OK enough! have a look for yourself!

Luckfection

I made up a word. It describes when you find something.....or someone that is perfect and you feel really lucky to have found it. In this case its a crazy beautiful young woman named Madsion. Madison and her family were kind enough to let Sharon and I into thier lives for an hour to capture her image. I will let the pictures do the talking....

older images that i jsut hd printed for the house

Howdy all - so here are three images I recently had printed and framed. I have them hung in the family room. They look great but being ilfochrome they are a bit on the dark and contrasty side. I miss ilfochrome so much. I loved it and will wait for something as good as long as I am a photographer. It’s really sad, what some of the things digital has done to the economy, my friends studios and output. You can still get a good print, don’t get me wrong but mashed up silver halides crammed into tiny slides and prints was organic and I miss that.
